CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a leading international financial services organization which specializes in accounting, payroll management, taxation, legal and advisory services to local and international businesses. The company operates multiple offices across Europe and is present in Bulgaria for more than 10 years.

Mission
  • Leading the general accounting and payroll services performed for company clients including general ledger accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop and motivate team members
  • Control work assignments and ensure sufficient skills, capabilities and capacity within the accounting team
  • Lead the accounting services for clients
  • Provide accounting / payroll / tax expertise to ensure completeness and accuracy of clients’ ledgers and reports. Maintain compliance with all state regulations at all times
  • Provide internal control expertise to ensure procedures and policies are properly followed
  • Effective resourcing and onboarding of new employees for the team
  • Provide process and system expertise to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness
  • Interact with Chief Accountants around the Group and HQ to resolve issues
  • Drive continuous improvement within the GA function, including process standardization based onleading practices, technology changes and organization improvements
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • Postgraduate professional certification is a plus
  • 5 years of work experience as Chief Accountant; leading a general accounting team in accounting company
  • Accounting and payroll skills (e.g. local, IFRS)
  • Big data processing skills and finance applications
  • Leadership certificates are a plus
  • Strong English skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer literacy: Advanced Excel skills are a must
  • Experience working with SAP and Navision is an advanta
